Join our small group of no more than ten people and discover the real Greece over two weeks of some of the Mediterraneans best weather.

 Enjoy the finest of Greek food and drink while we soak in the surrounds of both mainland Greece and the islands of Poros, Hydra and world famous Santorini.

Our small tour party will 'live like a local' enjoying Air BNB and off the beaten track experiences with real Greeks who are proud to show us their country.

The tour includes Santorini, Hydra, Poros, Monemvasia, Ancient Olympia, the Peloponnese Peninsula and Athens.

We'll enjoy dinner and spectacular views from the balcony of our host Alex's home in Hydra.

Day 1 April 13th: Meet in Athens

You'll get the chance to meet your fellow tour guests over drinks and nibbles before settling into our airport accommodation ready to begin the tour tomorrow. We'll set up your SIM card giving you access to the internet during your stay and our Facebook chat group for tour party members. 


Day 2 April 14th: Athens - Monemvasia

Today we collect our transportation and head to the heart of historic Greece, the Peloponnese Peninsula. We'll stop to explore the Corinth canal before making our way through the mountains of ancient Sparta to our first nights destination near the fortressed island of Monemvasia.

Day 3 April 15th: Ellafonisi Island and Monemvasia

Our morning will involve a short ferry crossing to the island of Ellafonisi where we'll spend a leisurely couple of hours enjoying Simos Beach with its crystal clear waters - voted one of the top ten beaches in Greece. We'll return to the mainland and spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful, historic fortressed island village of Monemvasia.

Day 4 April 16th: Monemvasia to Nafplion

Today we hug the coastline for our picturesque drive to Nafplion, voted Greece's prettiest city. We'll have the afternoon to explore the town with the chance to view luxury yachts in the harbour front, enjoy a quiet drink in the town square, take a swim or enjoy the stunning cliff front walk

Day 5 April 17th: Nafplion

Those who are more adventurous will be up early to enjoy the 999 step climb to the remains of historic Palamidi Castle, which offers stunning views across the town and the gulf below.  Wash the sweat off with a swim in the popular swimming cove at the back of the town. Spend the afternoon exploring the charming streets of the old town

Day 6 April 18th: Day trip to Olympia

We'll visit ancient Olympia - home, for over 1000 years, to the original Olympic Games. We'll stop for lunch in the gorgeous mountain village of Lagkadia before spending the afternoon checking out the ruins and museum of Olympia which houses many of the spendid statues from the original site. We'll return to Nafplion in the early evening in time to enjoy dinner.

Day 7 April 19th: Nafplion - Epidavros -Poros - Hydra

Today we will head for the island of Hydra, stopping off at Epidavros to visit the ruins including the ancient theatre of Epidavros - over 2000 years old and still used for performances today. We'll continue to the gorgeous island of Poros, just one minute by ferry from the mainland where we'll have lunch before going to Metoxi where we'll catch the 25 minute ferry ride to Hydra.

Day 8 April 20th: Hydra

There are few historic settlements in all of Europe to match Hydra. It's stunning cobblestone streets that may only be travelled by foot or donkey are truly a wonder of Greece. You'll have the added advantage of staying in a unique, privately owned clifftop mansion with some of the finiest views in Hydra. For those of you who don't enjoy a climb a donkey ride will enable you to get to the top in comfort.

Day 9 April 21st: Hydra

Enjoy a relaxing day in and around Hydra. You can catch a swim at one of the nearby beaches just below the cliffs or grab a water taxi and explore other parts of the island. We'll finish our Hydra stay with a rooftop dinner at our private home as we watch the sun set on another perfect day

Day 10 April 22nd: Hydra - Athens -Santorini

We return to the mainland and begin our return journey to Athens winding our way along the picturesque Aegean coastline and back to the city. We catch our evening flight to Santorini. 

Day 11 April 23rd: Santorini

Enjoy one of the worlds most iconic destinations. Wander among the streets of Fira or join us a for a 5 hour hike along the volcano ridge to Oia, scene of the world famous sunset you've seen on many a postcard. If walking is not your thing you may instead choose to visit the ancient ruins of Akrotiri at the southern end of the island or simply take the bus to Oia and meet the hikers there.

Day 12 April 24th: Santorini

Well return to Oia today to explore the village further and relax at our private pool resort with front row seats for the sunset. Watch the crowds jostle for position while we relax with drink in one hand and camera in the other.

Day 13 April 25th: Santorini-Athens

Today we spend the morning catching some last minute shopping in Fira before we grab our flight back to Athens

Day 14 April 26th: Athens; Final Day

The home of modern civilsation, Athens history is resplendent in the buildings that surround it. We'll make an early start to beat the crowds and view the Parthenon atop the Acropolis, one of the great wonders of the world. Passing throught the Botanic Gardens we'll visit the Panathenaic Stadium (home to the first modern Olympics in 1896) see the changing of the guards at Parliament Building and wander the streets of the Plaka district viewing the mixture of modern and classic Athens side by side. Those interested can attend the Acropolis museum or one of the many other splendid museums in the area.

Our tour ends today. For those staying on we can help you sort other outings including day trips to Cape Sounion, visiting further museums or catching a ferry out to the island of Aegina.
